History
In 1998, the Rockdale Youth Baseball Association (RYBA) formed the Miracle League in the Atlanta area. Its mission was to provide opportunities for all children to play baseball regardless of their ability. The disabled children in the community had expressed the desire to dress in uniforms, make plays in the field, and round the bases, just like their healthy peers. The league began with 35 players on four teams.
The first Miracle League complex was completed in April 2000 and had over 100 participants.
The Miracle League received lots of local and national media attention. In 2006, the league was inducted into The Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Miracle League has grown to over 200 local organizations and over 80,000 participants.
On April 9th of 2009, Las Vegas broke ground on its first Miracle League field, located near US 95 and Rancho Rd. We hope to create a beautiful facility with easy freeway access right in the middle of glittering Las Vegas.
